On January 17th Smashing Times Theatre Company organised a Project INTEGRA exploitation workshop. This workshop was attended by representatives from our social partners; Jack Quinn from Dublin School of English, Andreas Mokake the Integration Coordinator for Spirasi Asylum Services Initiative, Ursula Mullan Project Support Worker, Vincentian Refugee Centre.
The agenda for the workshop was as follows:
- Outline of activities of the project to date
- Outline of Materials Developed and distribution of sample materials to be used by the meeting attendees in their daily work
- Question and Answer Session. Feedback by social partners on how they felt they could use the materials developed within the groups they work with.
Smashing Times Theatre Company Project INTEGRA Coordinator Freda Manweiler presented the project and its progress. She outlined the project aims and activities and how the methodology of drama is used in the training of migrant community representatives. Project materials were discussed and distributed to the participants.
The meeting went very well and all attendees were very enthusiastic about the opportunities for their service users to take part in the training. There was very positive feedback about the learning materials as a teaching resource and the workshop as a great initiative that was badly needed.
